I was awake, but not up yet, when Lady bounced into the room and on top of me.

She had somebody's breakfast in her mouth. Fortunately, she is very efficient and kills her prey immediately.

I praised her, then "suggested" she take her mouse somewhere else to eat it. She jumped down to the floor, then ate it. I did not watch. When she was done, I saw that she had left the best parts for me. I moved them from the floor to the garbage. Sorry--but I prefer my food cooked.

She really is quite the little huntress, and with her (and her shelter sister CC) prowling around outside, I have NO rodent problem in the house.

Lady was a "foundling" at the shelter. She'd been hanging around outside for a while before they were able to trap her. She was not happy at being an inside cat here and worked her way outside after Katrina had messed up a screen.

Eventually, CC joined her as an in-and-out cat, but not before a "guest" had torn a fresh hole in the screen door.

This guest was supposed to be a temporary visitor, but she did not like the resident cats and managed to enlarge an opening in the porch screen (originally torn by a senile dog who didn't like thunderstorms). She went next door and settled down there, with seven or eight other cats.

That much-more-convenient opening was quickly put into use by CC, the little possum, the other neighbor's cat, and a raccoon. Fortunately, I can keep everybody except the cats from getting in from the porch.

At any rate--I declined Lady's offer of breakfast.

Other than that, it was an IUD. I spent a bunch of the afternoon at PJ's (coffee house) reading a new book that arrived yesterday.

Tomorrow YD and I will be going to the Saints' game against the Falcons. The Saints have been doing lousy this year, but a last minute ruling by a judge has postponed an NFL suspension (it's all quite complicated) for three of our very good players.

Our seats are behind the Saints bench, at about the 15 - 20 yd. line. Best of all, the people around us are really nice.

I appreciate Lady's thought, but I think I can do without any breakfast offering tomorrow.
