...and there's a two week vacation ahead.

I headed on home today before 2 PM.

The archivist is on vacation and I have run out of projects. I have an e-mail from her (from a bit ago) mentioning a couple of new collections, but only she knows their whereabouts.

I still need a location ID for the carton I just finished today, but that's it.

Anyway, next Tuesday is Mardi Gras, and that means Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday schools of all levels will be closed.

I am hoping the weather is something that can be taken advantage of for yard work. I have some vast plans, and the ideas are not half-vast.

(Old saying--don't make vast plans with half-vast ideas.)

I can't think of much else, so I'll share the word for today and an example in a sentence--all courtesy of my Word-a-Day claendar.

The word is catachresis and it is "use of the wrong word for the context."

And their sample sentence? "Because the word 'journal' itself derives from a word meaning 'day,' Mrs. James was of the opinion that the phrase 'daily journal' is a catachresis."

Till tomorrow--illegitimus non carborundum.

(and if you don't know that one, I'll give you the translation tomorrow.)
