Today goes down as Somewhat Unremarkable.

Got in to work nice and early and had a great parking spot.

Made some progress in the current archive I'm processing.

Went upstairs to get hot water for coffee and a parking pass for the next day I come in to work and discovered that they were out of parking passes. The secretary said she'd mail me one as soon as they came in.

Went back to the small space that has the bottled water stand. Guess what--the jug was empty. I feel as though they empty it when they find out I'm coming upstairs.

So I replaced it with a fresh bottle. This one has smaller bottles than most. I hope it's not a condescension to its location in the Women's Center.

And headed back downstairs.

And lucked out.

I generally need both hands when I'm using stairs. One to hang onto the railing for stability, and the other to shift in the direction I'm going. If I am carrying something up or down, I set it on a step, go down three, then reach back and get the whatever. Repaeat till I get where I'm going.

Today I was lucky--someone else was going downstairs and transported my cup there for me.

I left a bit earlier than usual because I needed to stop at the bank.

So, it looks like I can probably count on about a week of "vacation" until parking passes make it to me.

(I'm not even sure where to get them, or I'd do it myself.)

Rats.

Working is SUCH a good excuse for procrastinating stupid household stuff.

My cats were very glad to see me, and ate their dinners without any fuss or attempts to get each other's food. In fact, they ate about 4 feet from each other without a single hiss.

So, since I don't have a parking pass for tomorrow, I guess today is Friday by default. That means this week will have two Saturdays.
