And the furthest I've been from the house is the mailbox/paperbox area 150 ft. away.

My hip decided to be difficult today, which made an excellent excuse for postponing vacuum use.

Weatherwise, it didn't rain, but settled for cloudy. A good excuse for staying inside.

It had better not rain Monday--I'm scheduled for coffee with the director of Newcomb Institute. That should be interesting. The rest of the day will be spent catching up on the archival processing. I went ahead and ordered the archival photo holders. They don't cost much, but by doing it myself they get here a LOT faster than telling archivist what I need etc.

And the front page news in New Orleans--the Aints got a jazz funeral today.

The Aints date back to the really bad old days, when fans wore paper bags over their heads and referred to the team as the Aints.

Now that they have the Lombardi Trophy the Aints can be put to rest.

And, since it is New Orleans, it will be (was) a jazz funeral.

Music at a jazz funeral is slow and dirge-like on the way to the cemetery--usually "A Closer Walk," but after the interment, it's joyful--usually "When the Saints go Marching In."

And speaking of the Lombardi Trophy--there were a significant number of people who costumed (masked) as the Trophy on Fat Tuesday.

I am looking forward to this fall and the 2010-2011 season opening game.

As long as the weather is decent I shall probably go to church tomorrow, then make the "usual" post-church stop at WalMart.

After that I'm not sure what to do--the football game is no longer a part of Sunday.

Maybe yard work? (yuk)
