In a little less than eight hours I will have officially completed my 74th year of independent life. (The 9 months in utero don't count as "independent".) Quite a few of my ancestors made it well into their eighties. And with sound minds.

It's interesting that we count age from birth. There are probably some societies that count from conception.

At any rate, it was a pleasant day, made very good by YD and YGD taking me to lunch at the nearby Olive Garden.

And then when I got home I snuck in a bit of a nap.

At some point this afternoon the weather turned wet, and I now hear rumbling. The weather radar suggests that there will be on-again, off-again rain for the better part of the evening and into the night.

It's amazing how friendly the cats get when it's raining. I put out the possum/raccoon kibble on the porch, and tossed a bunch of raccoon biscuits onto the ocvered patio, so they will be able to eat (comfortably) even though it's raining.

There's more thunder rolling through. Guess I should watch the local news for meteorological comments.
