Rain is a mixed blessing in the summer here in the soggy south. Yes--it lowers the air temperature, but it raises the humidity. And hot and humid isn't too great, even if the air is about ten degrees less than before a shower.

Today was spent mostly at home. In the afternoon I went out to pick up a couple of prescriptions I'd phoned in, and yelded to temptation and stopped at a Popeye's on the way home for a take-home supper.

So far, it hasn't rained today. The weather radar looks as though there's little chance of showers after dark either.

No sign of any raccoons, although the critter food on the porch and patio continues to disappear.

I suspect that the mama has gone off to a place of peace and quiet and left her younguns to fend for themselves. This is about the time the same thing happened last year.

And that's about all the "excitement" for today. Chalk up another IUD.
