[ The oranges and yellows are the leaves that are beginning to turn. ]

I saw the doctor (PA) today re: my head bump. She seemed satisfied with its progress--no med changes or additions.

It was an 11 AM appointment, so that killed most of the morning.

Shortly before I headed out there was a knock on my door and the kid who used to live down the street and (with his twin brother) did odd jobs for change when he was much younger. We chatted a bit, and I think he was letting me know that he might be available for more odd job stuff.

But it was good to see him. And I wouldn't say we've been here a long time, but he was in diapers when I first saw him.

The weather seems to have cooled down a bit--unlike the high 90s of just a little while ago. As long as the clouds which keep it a bit cool don't empty buckets of rain on us, that's great.

However, there are plenty of clouds around this evening, so who knows.

This evening, after I fed the cats, I went onto the front porch to see if the raccoons were around. At least three were, and they had a terrible time waiting till I'd poured the kibble into dishes. No way will I attempt to touch them, and I don't want them bumping into me accidentally and acting threatened. They've started to learn my vocal tones and stay about five feet away till I tell them okay.

Unlike cats and dogs, who scarf up the kibble with their mouths, the raccoons pick it up with their very flexible front paws. The paws look almost like they have fingers.

The sky is really getting dark now--probably it's because of rain clouds.

And my giant cat wants petting.
