. . . but there's just a wee bit of excitement building up for tomorrow's football game.
The ferries will not be carrying cars tomorrow. The police force will be beefed up--and that includes tonight. There will be several road closures in the Superdome vicinity. Fortunately, over the years we have devised a route that involves minimal traffic. I doubt that many people will work until 5 PM, especially if they are in or near the CBD (Central Business District.) It's not like the police here are facing a new situation--don't forget we have Mardi Gras, which disrupts a lot more traffic for a lot longer than just a football game. And then there's the laissez les bon temps roulez attitude--let the good times roll. After so many years of not even getting near the playoffs--this is something special. I've about decided to wear my "A Woman's Place is in the Dome" t-shirt. I sure hope the energy from the crowd gets the team off to a winning start.
