I left the house somewhat after 6 AM and got to Tulane/Newcomb right about 7.

I let myself into the building and library, and darned if I didn't trip the alarm somehow. This time the cops who came were totally unconcerned and didn't even ask for ID. I guess they spotted my car and knew I was a "regular."

Somewhat later I got a phone call from the librarian with the news that my car was being booted.

That cop shop doesn't know which end is up. Supposedly I hadn't paid a ticket a couple of years ago.

When I do get a parking ticket, I pay it promptly, so I argued about it. At the cop shop.

The thing is, it's way too far for me to walk, so somebody (a cop) has to drive me over there. And then back to my building.

Once over there, they found out that I was not a flagrant parking ticket ignorer.

After that, the day settled down into one that was fairly productive.

And now I am sitting at the computer, with a large black cat curled up on my left foot. He makes an excellent foot-warmer, but gets annoyed when his pillow goes and walks away.

(My leg wants to cramp, but the cat won't let go of my foot. I'll have to move it VERY carefully, and watch what I am doing.)

At any rate, it was a productive day, and I plan on going in again tomorrow.
