Escargot.

YD, husband, and YGD took me to lunch today. Their choice of restaurant was a really nice place about halfway between them and me.

YGD has marvelous restaurant manners.

But back to the escargot.

I saw them on the appetizer list, gave it about half a moment's thought, then said "why not?" In all my 74 years I'd never tried them.

But I love raw oysters, and figured the texture would be similar.

It was, and I enjoyed those snails. Add that to my list of things I like.

Otherwise, it's been a pleasant day.

When I got back from lunch it was almost time for the football game. The Saints are playing at Dallas, and when I left the room with the TV to do a post the Saints were reasonably solidly ahead.

There are just two home games left in the regular season, both on Sundays. Naturally, I (and several hundreds of thousands) are hoping that there will be several post-season games also. Preferably at home.

I'm hoping the rest of the very long weekend will be reasonably nice so that I can't manufacture weather excuses about doing some outdoor stuff.

And I think halftime is over.
