The furnace came on briefly this morning, but not since.

However, I expect it will come on as soon as I up the thermostat.

The cats are in the room with me, but Spots is exploring the labyrinth under my desk, and CC is "supervising" from atop the desk. I don't know why it's taken him this long to discover that spot, but I guess he wanted to be inside where it's warmer and settled on underdesk exploration as his evening amusement. It should be interesting, since CC is more or less blocking the exit from under the desk.

There is something to be said for an area that is not cluttered, but it is of little interest to cats. Besides, if everything had a place where would be the fun of trying to find something?

Today was definitely an IUD, but at least the weather was great.

I shall probably go into work tomorrow, since I have a mid-afternoon appointment in New Orleans and I might as well combine the work and the appointment trips into one.

That means I shouldn't stay up too late watching TV or reading.

Got a holiday card from an old friend I first met online in a chat. Since then we've kept in touch (sporadically--thanks goodness for the end of the year holidays) and she married a marvelous man.

(The cats are playing "stalk and chase.")

(I spoke too soon--the furnace just cycled on.)

It's definitely an IUD when cooler weather--in the winter--is the least unremarkable happening in a day.
