Sometime substantially after lunch I headed over to the car doctor. The plan was to leave my car there and he would drop me off on his way home.

But first - - -

Last night I'd called in a prescription renewal to Walgreens and was told that my renewals were up and they'd call the dr. in the morning for authorization. So I swung by there on the way to the car doctor. The doctor's office had NOT returned their call.

Off to the car doctor. He was deeply involved with another car, and that didn't concern me--I'd brought a book.

Somewhat later he hadn't finished with the previous car, so I made another trip to Walgreen's. Still no renewal authorization.

Guess who's getting a call first thing tomorrow morning!

Anyway, the car guy was finally ready to head home, and off we went--in my car. I showed him a minor shortcut (one fewer stop signs) through the subdivision between me and the highway. I also pointed out the site of the murder a month or so ago.

Anyway, I finally got back home. Afternoon accomplishments--several chapters of reading.

Obviously, I won't be going in to work tomorrow, so I guess I'll have to do household stuff. After, of course, a morning call to the doctor's office about their failure to call the drugstore.

I think (hope) I have enough pills left for tomorrow. And that my car gets done tomorrow so I can (finally) pick up the prescription.

My cats are being super-friendly at the moment. They make typing a real challenge. My big boy cat is especially loving and demanding of affection. I don't know where he came from, but I'm sure glad he did.

So it hasn't been the greatest day.

On the other hand, the cats are displaying their appreciation of a heated house by increasing their lap time.

I wonder how long my car will be laid up.
