I woke up at a decent hour, then made the mistake of reclining on the couch while I ate something for breakfast.

CC decided that she wanted some extra warmth, and the next thing I knew more than an hour had disappeared.

It hasn't been proved scientifically, but those of you with feline friends know that, when they are in contact with your body, their sleep waves reinforce yours--leading to long, satisfactory naps. Satisfactory for the human, and probably equally satisfactory for the cat.

Fortunately, I'd gone out on a small errand to Walgreen's and gotten stuff I'd overlooked last night at the big blue box.

It's on the cool side now, with a sort of incipient rain feeling in the air.

(Re: the cool side--it is, after all January.)

Let's see--I put out possum/raccoon kibble on the front porch. When I'm done socializing electronically I'll toss out a bunch of raccoon biscuits.

The other day I got a post card from the blood center announcing a drawing at Tulane in a week or so. I think I'll make a point of wearing my various blood shirts when I go in there to work. I'm currently wearing a long-sleeved one titled "Krewe of Life."

(For those of you not familiar with New Orleans Mardi Gras traditions, the various Carnival clubs--especially the ones that parade--are known as Krewes.)

This is not this year's shirt. I may have already gotten this year's when I went by for the drawing for the CBC. As expected, it came back fine, and I'm going to try to get down there and donate platelets again this week.

Several of my blood shirts feature the Saints. (Why should I pay a ridiculous amount at a store when I can get them without any money changing hands?)

It's almost 7 PM CST and I am wide awake now from my sinking spell. I'm also more than a bit hungry.
