I'm talking about the rain. And a check of the weather radar tells me that it's going to get rainier--a LOT.

I finally made it in to work today, but forgot my watch. So what--I've got the telephone.

Oops--I sure I hope I plain forgot to put it in my pocket rather than think about the mini-directory of numbers I had in it.

Okay--change that to "have." It was sitting on the bathroom counter where I had put it when I was getting dressed this morning.

The TV news is in the background repeating the call for A-neg blood--especially platelets. I called the local center and got an appointment for a platelet donation late tomorrow afternoon. That gives me plenty of time to bulk up on high-iron foods, although since I switched to platelet donation my personal iron level stays high enough for donations.

The only other thing I need for the platelet donation is a good book to read. It takes well over an hour for the donation. Sometimes either the people there or the TV is interesting enough, but if they're busy enough I'll be limited to a choice of a book or whatever TV show is on.

And now I have another decision to make--whether to go in to work, or stay at home.

I'll see what the weather is.

(When was the last time you donated blood? There is no totally satisfactory substitute for it, and you don't just go down to the Walgreen's to get some if you have the misfortune to need it.)
