Got in early and found a great, nearby parking spot.
Unlocked the building, then headed straight to the "pit." Once that was taken care of I got out the keys to the library itself. I opened the door, then punched in the alarm code. Except I had a sinking feeling that I hadn't hit the first digit quite firmly enough. About five minutes later a cop showed up and turned off the alarm. And then "took it easy" for a while. I didn't have to explain who I was or how I came to have a key. Guess they have finally figured that one out. Campus cops tend to be of "mature years," and once they know things are okay they take advantage of the opportunity to sit for a while. Eventually someone appeared who knew the magical password to shut the alarm thing off. From then on it was an IUD. I left about mid-afternoon after putting in a full day and headed on home. Nothing eventful about that drive either. I haven't decided whether to go in tomorrow or not. I'll see what my energy level is--and what the weather is. With a ~ one hour car commute each way I get to hear a lot about the tsunami etc. How horrible. Maybe it's a cosmic slap in the face for our general hubris.
