The dogs next door are barking their heads off! I wonder what critter(s) have brought this about.

Fortunately, the dogs are kept in the back yard, which begins (for them) about where my garage begins. In other words, they are a barking annoyance only when I am in the computer room, at the back of the house on the dog-neighbors' side.

They may be barking at the miscellaneous critters that inhabit these parts.

Well, the Morganza Spillway is in the process of being opened. There will be a lot of properties getting flooded, although with the ample warning given we can only hope that the residents have had time to do things, such as building their own levees around their houses. (There was a video clip showing this.) And, of course, getting valuables moved to safer areas.

Most of the people shown on TV have been planning how to minimize losses and damage for at least a week--probably more.

It's still hard though.

And far better than having a massive collapse of the levee system. That would zap a lot of factories, not to mention the port of New Orleans and huge numbers of residential properties.

And here on the eastern side of the Mississippi--and the Bonne Carre spillway, things just keep muddling along.

There is no perfect place to live--with absolutely no potentially harmful weather "events" or other danger possibilities.

And that's about it for another Incredibly Unremarkable Day.
