When you don't have a regular work or whatever schedule based on the 7 day week, Saturday is just another day.

This week's Saturday was spent (so far) with minor house-tidyings, an afternoon nap, a critter-food expedition to WalMart, and (of course) critter food putting-out at home.

Yesterday I discovered that someone had broken off the little red reflector that I put at the end of the driveway.

Naturally I forgot to get another one of those when I was at WalMart.

I do not think it broke accidentally.

And I shall probably go to a hardware store to see if they have them on metal posts. The recently deceased one had a plastic post.

If they're cheap enough, I may get several to put where the sharp dropoff is by the mailbox.

And so Saturday is coming to a close. At the moment it's still almost-full light out, but in another hour it will be getting dim.

Somehow, I don't think I'll be staying for late TV.

Did I mention that it's been hot?

Well, the weather people agree, and this area has been breaking records right and left.

Slidell registered a high today of 103F. (That F stands for Fahrenheit, not for a four-letter word reflecting an opinion of the temperture.)

When I was growing up (1940s and early 50s) any unusual weather was attributed to atmospheric testing of atomic bombs.

Can't blamae it on that now--so much for those who laugh at the global warming concept.
