I finished typing up the inventory for the largest of the cartons of files that I processed at Newcomb.

After that one the other two will get done in nothing flat.

I'll wait till all three are done before I e-mail them to the appropriate people at Newcomb.

And--I had a nice conversation with a friend from grad school days (for me that was the 90s) who teaches (and lives) in Mobile.

Last year was the first time in quite a while that we missed our "Gulf States Women's History Conference."

But we got it scheduled for this year!

She drives west, and I drive east, and we meet in Gulfport at the Arby's just off the interstate.

We generally manage to stretch the lunch into at least three hours.

So that's something to look forward to!

And now that I've got one inventory list done I have a bit more enthusiasm for doing the other two. For starters--they are both significantly shorter than the first one. And there's a nice sense of "job done" when I turn them in. (Strictly speaking, I don't turn them in, but e-mail them to the appropriate people.)

A glance at the clock, and the degree of darkness outside, and I figure there will probably be some hungry little masked ones waiting for the raccoon biscuits that usually get tossed out about now.

I'd better do that now.
