No showers today (at least not yet) so it continue to be hot--as in the 90s.

The assorted critters are definitely taking it easy, although they may perk up as the sun sets and it cools off a bit.

Today was mostly little stuff around the house--totally boring and the kind of thing that never stays done.

Tomorrow I plan to go into N.O. and use Newcomb's AC.

Friday I have the orthopedist appointment. I certainly hope he has more to say than "here's a vicodin prescription and come back in six months." I'm sure he will, which is why I'm going to him.

This year has gone by rather quickly, so far. Hard to believe it's August already. Won't be long till the rug rats return to school.

My neighborhood doesn't have many kids in it any more--they've pretty much all grown up. And the population is very stable--most of the people who lived here when we moved back in '76 are still here--except for the kids who have grown up and moved away/gotten married.

I'm trying to decide whether to shower before bed, or when I get up. It will probably be the latter--I hate to waste that nice fresh feeling on sleep.

And thus another day slowly draws to a close.

"Good night, sleep tight, don't let the bedbugs bite," as they used to say.
