I know the bank really cares about my safety, etc. etc. etc., but by the time you come up with an acceptable password it is usually totally unrememberable unless you write it down somewhere reasonably unguessable, but some place you can remember.

And have you ever tried to change the password they declare no longer acceptable?

I went through that a couple of months ago, and this afternoon went to get a printout to update the checkbook balance. I did this a couple of days ago, and I thought I was doing the same thing today.

Sometimes "safety" can be overdone to the point of rendering some activity useless and/or futile.

It has not really been that much of a day. I was going through books and sorting out those I'd be donating to a library. And trying to find a box to put them in.

My next challenge will be getting the box into my car, although I think the wheelbarrow with the flat tire will be a big help there. I can bring the car up fairly close to the door to the den.

And, of course, a trip to the bank.

What else today? Oh--the TV remote is kaput. I tried several sets of batteries. They all lit a flashlight, but did nothing for the remote.

Do we ever get used to "lazy" tools in a hurry! I hope what I feel like watching is all on the same channel.

Of course, the next question is whether I go in to work (as I had planned) tomorrow, or tend to the remote and the bank? I haven't decided on that one.

The weather has warmed up a bit, which means I can procrastinate on lighting the furnace pilot.

It's the little crap that can pile up and get you down.

Today's "final straw" was the remote.
