Not an unremarkable day, but a day with one pain in the neck after another.

This afternoon the toilet decided to burp. Fortunately, "oh, s***" was not the appropriate term. That had taken taken place earlier.

BUT--I am now waiting for a repairman. The one I called is a 24 hour service. The secretary called a few minutes ago to apologize and say I DO have a spot on the list.

I told her I had a john in the garage, so the world would not end if they felt inclined to put a repair in a household with kids ahead of me. Did she ever sound grateful.

I have another one in the house, in a half bath, but if the problem is not very far downstream, that might be an invitation to disaster.

Never a dull moment.

However--my lawn is neatly trimmed. My neighbor who loves to mow lawns was out there mowing hers, and came right over without asking me or anything and trimmed mine.

Come spring and I plan on buying her several azalea bushes. They're talking about having some along the back yard fence. They look at my 6 ft. tall azaleas when they are in full (glorious) bloom in the spring and figure that's a good bush. Of course, mine have been there thirty years or more, but that's a minor detail. I'll get them some with a year or so on them and decent growth. And include a couple of bags of azalea food.

I need to go back to the front of the house so I don't miss my plumber.

Wish me luck.
