"Dork" is not exactly a flattering term when used to refer to a person.
Just how unflattering is it? Well, based on something I just read in one of YD's books, "dork" refers to a whale's penis. That's something to drop into coffee break conversation. Learning that may have been the high point for today. (It is not in my American Heritage Dictionary--second College Edition, but various searchings on the internet confirm the whale bit.) Other than that, today was an IUD. We had some rain, but I was able to walk down to the mailbox and paper tube to get the vital reading material. And I'm getting rather tired of the rain. Why? Wet sidewalks, parking lots, etc. are slippery ones, and it doesn't take much for a cane to slip on a wet sidewalk or street. This weekend marks the start of the many parades--not just in New Orleans but in the whole area. Slidell has at least two, and I'm sure the other end of the parish has as many or more. It's hard to keep track of those in New Orleans and Metarie. Almost every town etc. with a halfway decent population has at least one parade, including boat parades for those areas with plenty of accessible waterfront. I don't go to them any more (the proper term is to "catch a parade") because they are best enjoyed when you are in a group. The "up" side of parade season is that WalMart and similar stores tend to be almost deserted--with so many potential customers catching parades. Time now to get back to Diana's book--(Sins of the Demon.) Read/Post Comments (5) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
