The Webster's New World Dictionary (paperback, fourth edition) defines putter as "busying ones self in an ineffective or aimless way."

Yep--that describes it.

I did make it to church. We had a woman preacher who (I think) is a candidate for the ministry. She's great, and I hope we do get her.

We've been without a full-time minister since Katrina.

Once home I puttered around for a bit, then realized that I had zero file folders and almost zero white paper. (Part of my vast plan for today involved getting the Newcomb typing done.)

Back to WalMart, with a slight detour on the way home for a 2-piece mild dark meat from Popeye's.

And now it appears that I have pretty well puttered away the better part of the day, although I did accomplish something.

But when I checked my Tulane parking pass "collection" I discovered that I was completely out.

I e-mailed that tidbit to the archivist, so I probably have three or four days before I get at least one pass in the mail.

And I was hoping to get back to the actual archival processing.

Oh well.
