Yesterday afternoon something magical happened--those little glass globes became filled with miniature suns.

And the TV came on.

And something happened when I tried to get to the internet.

Well, you can't get (almost)ANYWHERE without electricity. I think it was about five days. The night before I had called CLECO, not to complain, but to see if they had a probable date for return of service. I was really pleasant to the person who answered the phone, figuring that she had been taking guff for several days--and the extended outage was definitely not her fault.

Good thing it's summer, when there is an ample supply of natural light.

Oh--and neither AC nor fans work without it either.

All of that a side effect of Isaac.

Isaac itself was pretty much of a nothing--thank goodness.

Unless, of course, you were in an area that got flooded by the water it pushed ahead.

Let's hope that this is not a multi-storm summer, although southern Louisiana and other eastern states on the Gulf Coast have been having a time of it.

When I was a kid (in the northeast, in the early forties) vagaries in climate and storms were blamed on the A-bomb testings going on.

I'll probably spend tomorrow doing all the electicity-requiring stuff that has had to wait.

Now, however, it's time for a sinking spell. Last night was not all that great for sleeping.

Probably a contributing factor, but at least it was something to blame on the weather.
