Here's a neat feature JS has:

<http://journalscape.com/username/scan> This is close to a "Friends Page" feature on LiveJournal, but much more compact, so it's usually just a screenful or two.

In contrast, LJ's Friends Page is kept to some number of entries (25?) but with teasers set by the blog authors themselves. If the authors don't create teasers with <lj-cut> tags, their whole entry is laid out as part of your Friends Page, leading to a very long and hard-to-navigate page.

To set up your own, go the above url, substituting username for your own JS username. If you don't have a username, what are you waiting for?!

One caveat, however: the scan is viewable by everyone, so if you worry about sideshow drama about "how come you're scanning hir journal and not mine!" don't use it. Or make sure to satisfy both parties.

To demonstrate, click on my scan link in my header. See all the journals I scan? If you want to be added, don't do the drama, drop me an email or comment!

While I'm at it, here's another link I just added to my header:

Recent Entries for all journals at JS. Basically, if any JS user posts a public entry, it gets listed on that page.

JournalScape has a really good feeling, that everyone here trusts each other. I still miss the "multiple friends lists" feature of LJ, but that site is so huge that there are bound to be jerks and bullies on there.

None here, leastwise none I've experienced. Anyhow, those two links are daily visits for me. I think they help build this community spirit. Thoughts? Are there other JS features I've missed?
