Okay, it's been a while. Here's the quick and the dirty.

My condo is flooded. My next door neighbor's washing machine overflowed, and no one noticed it until it was seeping into our place.

I didn't remember buying the water rights to the place.

Anyhow, the left half of the place is now home to a bunch of industrial blowers and one mini-fridge sized dehumidifier. What furniture? The right half of the house is now double-density in furniture.

Clan Kitty is now ensconced in Chez Kitty-in-laws, also in the same condo complex. I get a few groans when I tell them that my in-laws can tell if we're arguing in the summer (so the windows are open), but there are still some strong advantages to having family so close by.

Oh, but it gets better.

Father-Kitty-in-Law doubled over in pain earlier today, so he's at the hospital. Turns out it's a 'warm' gallbladder. What's a gallbladder supposed to be, chilly? Anyhow, he's in for surgery either tonight or tomorrow, at first opportunity.

And, wait, there's more!

Kitten was on a mandatory field trip (for science) that was a long-ish hike. Turns out it was too long - her tendons are now popping in the ankles, and her podiatrist says she can't take any long walks.

Longtime readers will recall that Clan Kitty is radially impaired. The only wheels we own are my bicycle, SpouseKitty's wheelchair, and the wheels at the bottom of Kitten's schoolbag. "No long walks" is kinda ... difficult.
