2004-07-18 10:46 PM And then there were three... Mood: Excited Read/Post Comments (8) |
Well, I guess it is time that I let the world know my news. After a year and a half of trying, pill popping and injections (I will get to that in a minute), I am pleased to announce that I am with child.
Here is a picture of my little bean from 3 weeks ago.
I wanted to wait until we saw the heartbeat before we announced it. I am just over 10 weeks, and here is the best part - my due date is my birthday! February 13!! Pretty cool, huh?
So in case you are interested, I will let you know what it took to actually make this happen.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I have PCOS. My ovaries refuse to spit out an egg. SOooo...
In order to get pregnant I had to inject a drug called Bravelle into my belly for 9 nights in a row. My friend Jill did the first 3 for me until I got the hang of mixing the meds and sticking myself. I had to go for ultrasounds every three days until there was an egg ready to be released. (the ultrasounds, by the way, were NOT abdominal.... they were trans-vaginal - figure it out...) When the egg was ready to pop, I had to do one last injection of a drug called Ovidrel, which FORCED the egg out.
The egg was released. Tom sent out the army. And the rest is history.
I have another ultrasound on Wednesday, so we will be able to see how much the bean has grown. WOohoo!
Sigh. There. Now the world knows. I AM PREGNANT.
