So I was out to dinner with my in-laws and Tom's 90-year-old grandmother the other night. She is sharp as a tack, but her hearing isn't quite what it used to be. She ordered her dinner, prime rib, and requested that it be cooked medium.

She was not wearing her hearing aides that night, and my mother-in-law commented to her, "Mom, I think you are hearing better without your hearing aides in than with them!" Without skipping a beat, Grandma said, "Yeah, as long as they don't over cook it."
