2009-06-06 9:54 PM Japan Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Contemplative Read/Post Comments (1) I arrived in Tokyo Wednesday, June 3rd. After arriving in my hotel my auntie Andrea picked me up to meet up with my cousin Kei, who's a year younger than me. Andrea drives a really nice Audi, and apparently in Japan they have screens in the front of their car where they can watch TV, I think Americans would get into too many accidents if that feature was available in the states. Anyways, the fashion in Tokyo is very different. The people in Tokyo were either very well dressed, whether it be a clean cut suit or fancy dress, or they would dress crazy like they were homeless. Kei and I had dinner at a sushi restaurant with the conveyor belts, where you just take whatever looks good. After dinner we went to the Shibuya District which is popular among the younger people. It was overwhelming and very cool. We were surrounded by huge buildings and lights everywhere, there were huge screens and lots of noise, it kind of reminded me of Times Square, just more Japanese. There were also people everywhere, and I was constantly pushing my way through crowds. I got tired by 9:30, probably because of time change, so I went back to the hotel; and that was my 1 night trip to Tokyo. I didn't buy anything because everything in Japan is more expensive than in the US.
