I got productive last night and finished laying out our holiday chapbook. It's going to be a good one, called Wintering Away, and will feature all-original material. My story "Winter on the Pyre," Heather's story "The Janitor's Night Dive," and a collaborative poem, "Wintering Away," which is certainly the most successful poetical collaboration Heather and I have ever done. It's our shortest holiday chapbook, and will also have the smallest print-run (we're not doing more than a hundred copies, and might do fewer). This is, essentially, our Xmas/holiday/whatever card, and we'll just print enough for the people on our list, and a handful more to sell. Purchasing details to follow at www.tropismpress.com, but probably not until after the new year.

I'll get a list of poems from Heather tonight, I hope, I and then we'll post the ToC of Flytrap 2. We'll probably announce our next reading period within the next day or two as well. We just need to figure out when it will be...

Otherwise, not much to report. I got a rejection from Sci Fiction. I'm reading Sturgeon and Delaney stories. The Frog novel is still coming along, a few pages at a time, hopping steadily toward completion. I have an idea for a story to write once the Frog novel is done, something dark and longish (a novelette, probably) and complex, about dogs and chaos and alienation and genius. It's still in that ethereal gathering-together-of-fragments stage, but, with luck, it will coalesce into something real. And, off in the several-months-from-now distance, I can see the shape of my next novel slowly rising out of the haze...
