Writing stuff:

I will be doing a reading/signing at Borderlands Books in San Francisco on Sunday, March 21, at either 2 or 3 p.m. (the scheduling is still being fine-tuned). You have to come. All of you. From far and wide. Boderlands is my favorite bookstore. They have the best selection of small-press books around, there's not a media-tie-in or schlock movie-novelization to be found on their premises, the proprietors are cool, and the atmosphere is divine. I'll provide more details once they're nailed-down.

I'm working on a story. It's going very slowly, but it's good. That's all I have to say about that for now.

Day job stuff:

Another issue of A Certain Magazine, finished! The March issue is on its way to the printer now. I made it through switching programs (from pagemaker to indesign), through several unexpected big photo spreads (we did about four pages of coverage for Julius Schwartz's death, with loads of old pictures), a wrenched shoulder, and a persistent cold, and now, yay, done for another month.

Well, done for another week and a half or so, anyway, at which point we'll begin working on the April issue in earnest. In the meantime, I can concentrate on the pile of back issue orders and CD-ROM orders I need to fill, review copies I need to request, and, of course, cleaning out the basement, integrating the past three years' worth of books into the main collection, doing minor repairs around the office, and all the other between-issue sorts of things.

It's hard to believe I've been at this job for two and a half years now. I've never held a job for this long (well, I worked at the same place for four years in college, but it was seriously part-time and I took a couple of summers off).

Other stuff:

Had a nice Valentine's with Heather, most of the details of which are unprintable in this venue. As for printable bits, we had a nice meal at one of our favorite restaurants, and I got Heather a stuffed rhinoceros which she named Rondeau, and we snuggled on the couch and watched DVDs. It was a good weekend all around. I wish I'd had President's Day off -- Heather did -- but beyond that, no complaints.
