I spent a few hours this morning reading Flytrap submissions, and I'm all caught up, now. If you sent an e-mail sub and you haven't heard from me yet, it means your story is in my "maybe" folder, and you'll get a final answer in a couple of weeks. So far I've accepted stories by Melissa Marr, Michael Canfield, Jeffrey Ford, Theodora Goss, Jay Lake, Jeremy Smith, and Jeff VanderMeer. It's a stellar line-up, and the stories are marvelous. I've got room for two or three more stories, depending on length, and I'm open to submissions for another week, so keep 'em coming! (Guidelines are here.) I haven't gotten many submissions from women this time for some reason -- the gender ratio is running about three to one males over females, which is unusual. I've got enough good "maybes" to make a fine issue, but I like having more choices, so submit!

The party last night was great fun. Got to see Frank Wu, Jay Lake, Cheryl Morgan, Sam Ling, and various other interesting folks. The drive down to Palo Alto was a bit nightmarish, with pounding rain, but the drive back was serene and lovely, and Heather and I sang along with the iPod. A lovely night.
