I'm here at Blue Heaven, stealing a few moments on Greg's laptop. It's been a marvelous week, and a full(er) trip report will follow when I return home, probably. I've been eating great food, drinking beer, having wonderful conversations, reading good stuff, looking at water snakes, throwing rocks for the dog, going on hikes, getting drunk, honing my critical faculties, and generally relaxing as hard as I possibly can.

Yesterday I got some incredibly awesome news, which, for the usual reasons, I can't reveal just now -- I should be able to make it public in early June. But it was good enough that, when I got the e-mail yesterday at the bar, everyone cheered, and bought me celebratory French wine (the closest thing the Pump had to champagne), and joined me in my rejoicing. So, like, live in suspense, y'all.

This beer in front of me ain't gonna drink itself, so I'll write more when I return to Oakland next week.
