I revised "From Around Here" (AKA my spelling bee story) -- which took a while, as I had to add a scene and rewrite some bits a lot -- and sent it off to the editor. Wish it luck. I also attempted to record a short story for somebody's podcast, which required learning how to use the appropriate program on Heather's laptop. I don't think it was a particularly good reading, and there was some ambient noise, so I'm going to give it another go this weekend. I wandered off for lunch and a stroll around Piedmont Ave., since the weather was fine, then returned home and decided housework was easier than writing something new (revision was rather draining). Laundry and dishes were accomplished, order restored, chaos banished, etc. I headed up to Berkeley to see my friend A., who recently moved here. We hung out in a café and talked about art and whatnot, then strolled up to the Cheeseboard in the rain and talked some more. It's always nice seeing her. I hit the gym, hooked up with my beloved wife, did some working out, then came home for pizza and episodes of Deadwood and reading the newest collection of Y: The Last Man. Life is good. There's an article about me by the esteemed John Joseph Adams up at Sci Fi.com. It was nice of him to interview me. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
