2007-03-22 11:30 AM Flytrap 7 Is Coming Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (1) (I'm still typing this on a borrowed computer, because I yet remain a computerless wanderer. I'm taking my poor battered machine to the shop tonight. I managed to get the internet connection set up on the ancient backup mac, so I feel a little less cut off from the world...) We have the line-up for Flytrap 7! Ooh, you're so lucky! No order form or webpage yet (we have to decide on a cover), but I thought I'd tell you the vital stats. Heather chose fiction this time, I chose poetry. Fiction: "My Shoes" by Ray Vukcevich, which is as essentially unclassifiable as any Ray Vukcevich story. "Frankenfetish" by Leslie What, a sad, sweet tale of family dynamics and weird science. "Apology" by Jan Wildt, the longest story we've ever published (it sprawls over almost half the issue!), featuring some of the most unreliable narration we've ever encountered. It's a very strange story, but we like strange stories, as long as they're also good. "The Gardener of Hell" by Amy Beth Forbes, a story of death and (maybe) redemption. Plus three poems by Jay Wentworth, one of my favorite contemporary poets, and (we expect) a column on comics by Erin Donahoe and a column by Nick Mamatas. Yes, only four stories, and only three poems, but the page count is the same as our last issue, because one of the stories is quite long, as is one of the poems. We're happy, and we'll have copies at WisCon. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
