(There are more stories at the website.) Really devoted Tim Pratt fans (there must be one or two of you, right?) will be interested to know that this story forms a triptych with my story "The Scent of Copper Pennies" and my poem "The God of the Crossroads" (which appears under my preferred title "Forking Paths" in my poetry collection). All three pieces are about lost choices and missed opportunities and parallel worlds and the gods that live between possibilities. Enjoy! And, on a smuttier note, my new Caught in the Net Column is online: "Spanky Panky". About -- I bet you guessed it! -- erotic spanking. Includes a link to a list of potential spanking implements at a site about corporal punishment for kids, and suggests, ahem, willful misuse of that resource. But that's what perverts do -- they take good, pure information about beating your kids and subvert it into nasty dirty acts involving consenting adults...
