His works meant a lot to me when I was young (started reading them when The Eye of the World was published, back in, oh, eighth grade?) and they were the first epic fantasy I ever loved. I admit that after book five or six I lost interest, but the guy's work gave me lots and lots of enjoyment, and great conversations with friends who also loved the books. I was sad I didn't get to meet him when he visited the Locus offices a couple of years ago (I was out of town). And now I'll be writing his obituary. Sad. My condolences to all who knew and will miss him. Read/Post Comments (3) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
