I thought this was pretty interesting ... it sort of explains who the various antiwar groups are (at least the major ones) and what they represent. It also shows how varied the opinions of those who have been lumped under the label "antiwar" actually are. Props to my undergrad alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, for making it to the Elite Eight in the NCAA men's basketball tourney! I'm hoping for three Big 12 teams in the Final Four, so we can lay to rest all doubts about which is the toughest conference in men's basketball. My OSU-loving friends and family can take heart in the fact that they can correctly say they have two wins over Elite Eight teams (Texas and OU-hmph!); there aren't too many other teams that can say that. Well, Spring Break's about over and it's been pretty nice. My time at home was very restful until the trip back, when my flight to LaGuardia was canceled and I was put on a plane to Newark and made to ride a bus through the Lincoln Tunnel at rush hour. It took me almost two days to recover from the stress of that (and having to walk a block to Grand Central in the rain with 70 pounds of luggage and no raincoat). But now I'm starting to remember the good stuff from Spring Break. I did not have time to see as many people as I wanted... unfortunately being home from a Wednesday to Wednesday was not as good an arrangement for most of my friends as it was for me. But I did get to see most of my mom's family, including my Uncle Rob, who just finished eight months in Bahrain with his National Guard unit, and most of my cousins. And it is always fun to watch the early days of March Madness with my family, the only other people I know who will watch every game from start to finish. I did get to see my friend Laura, who I hadn't seen in almost a year, and she told me that her first choice grad school for next year is CUNY! I can't imagine she won't get in; it would be so great to have her up here. Especially if Susan gets assigned to the New Jersey BASF plant in the next two years -- then three of the OU Honors Four will be in the same part of the country again! OK, OK, I won't get my hopes up too high since nothing is definite yet. But I really hope it works out. Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
