2003-04-27 1:05 PM Well, this was sort of a weird week. Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (0) I guess in some ways it was a good week. I got an interview for a summer job at Columbia's Earth Observatory, and Shazia told me if I want to stay in the apartment she will let me sign a year lease so I will know she won't kick me out at any given moment. She's even already found someone for Nina's room when she moves out, so I don't even have to worry about paying a bigger share of the rent. I still think I'd rather move to the Bronx with Laura, but in the event that Laura doesn't wind up here, at least I won't have to move unless I find a really great situation. For all the minor annoyances, Shazia is really not a bad roommate, even with the fiancee/husband, and I've heard so many horror stories that I don't know if I want to share an apartment with someone I don't know. I got really lucky this first time. Plus, the rent is cheap, and I am a cheapskate.
But it was just a weird week, maybe because I went out on Wednesday evening which I hardly ever do. And I was sort of on a short fuse all week, for biological reasons, it turns out. Anyway, the thing I have to worry about right now is getting to my interview without getting lost tomorrow. I have to get across the TappanZee Bridge, which I have never done before, but it seems fairly simple. However, since I have a track record of getting lost the first time I go anywhere around here, I am going to leave at about 12:30 for my 2:30 interview, even though it is only supposed to take half an hour to get there, just in case. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow, so I'll just take a book with me and read if I get there early. I'll let you all know how it goes later.
