Grrrrrr.

I've been having one of those weeks where it feels like no matter how much work I do, I make absolutely no progress. Extremely frustrating.

Today I was going grocery shopping, but since there was absolutely no food in the house, I stopped at Wendy's to eat. (I have learned that it is never a good idea to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach.) It was really crowded, because it was lunchtime. Right as I got my order, this woman came up to the counter and demanded to talk to the manager. It seemed she was offended because one of the workers told her to pick up the trash she and her friends were just going to leave on the table. Now obviously, I didn't hear the exchange so maybe the employee was really rude to her, but 1)I thought it was common fast food ettiquette to throw one's trash away and 2)it was a VERY crowded restaurant, so to leave one table covered with trash was pretty rude and arrogant anyway.

This Wendy's happens to be in a part of Yonkers that has very ritzy, expensive houses and condos on one side of the street and middle-class high rises and government assisted houses on the other. The woman who complained to the manager was obviously from the ritzy side of the street. And here she was, browbeating this poor guy who really needed to be helping his staff with the immense line of customers waiting for their food, because someone dared to remind her of her own lack of common courtesy. The arrogance of some people never ceases to amaze me, but I find that I am less and less surprised when it comes from someone wearing designer clothes or driving a luxury car.
