For a short week, this has been really long. Gee, maybe it was the two hours I sat on the subway yesterday morning while the remnants of Hurricane Frances overwhelmed the city's antiquated sewer system. Or perhaps it was running around today to buy wine and cheese (and an extra trip to get a corkscrew) for a reception at work to which one person showed up (and he was an hour and a half late, by which time everything had been put away again). Or maybe it's that I have to get up extra early because we're hosting a workshop tomorrow, and drive to Queens tomorrow night for a party (which is a good thing, as long as I can get over the "driving to Queens" part). Whatever. Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that my alarm didn't go off this morning so I woke up an hour late and had 15 minutes to make my train. It's just been one of those weeks where everything turns into an extra hassle. I really wanted to get some writing done this week but I've been so exhausted I've only managed to pick a piece to work on and read through it again. Guess that's a start.
