2005-01-04 11:53 PM What Game? Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (0) No there was no national championship football game in college football this year. Nope, the NCAA decided it wasn't fair that only two undefeated teams got to play in the national championship since there were 4 teams that finished the season undefeated so they declared everyone a winner and left it at that. And that's the little story I'm going to tell myself.
Anyway seeing as how there was no game I did at least get some fun out of playing with my Christmas presents -- washing my new flannel sheets and all my new kitchen stuff, knitting with my sock yarn (technically not a Christmas present, since it came from the Hobby Lobby gift card Sus got me for graduation, but I just got it while I was at home). Now I'm listening to the CD Brother No. 2 got me for Christmas. It's a CD of "alternative recordings 1985-1989" for R.E.M. and it is quite awesome. The highlights so far have been covers of Aerosmith's "Toys in the Attic" and the old classic "Dream" (you know "whenever I want you, all I have to do, is dream") as well as a slow live acoustic version of "The One I Love" which for some reason has always been one of my favorite R.E.M. songs. Very, very cool. It came from Vintage Stock, it looks like it was released in 1998. Ah, Vintage Stock -- even with the Strand and other used bookstores, there is nothing quite like Vintage Stock in New York. Brother No. 2 did quite a bit of his shopping there, and did quite well. I haven't even mentioned my biggest Christmas toy -- a digital camera! I haven't gotten around to loading the software on the computer yet, but I've already got some good pictures from Christmas. So maybe I'll have to go to Xanga Premium and become a photoblogger. On second thought, maybe not. Well, I'm going to bed -- actually I'm going to fetch my sheets from the dryer and then go to bed. Good thing I won't be having any nightmares about Matt Leinart or anything. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
