So it's Friday, but I have to finish a bookshelf at work tomorrow (long and not very interesting story), so it doesn't really feel like Friday. Which is why I almost forgot the above.

Man, I miss Redbird Nation. After a rather pessimistic week for Cardinals fans (many, many key players on the DL, a disappointing series loss to the durn Cubbies), we finally get a big whup-a** win and The Birdwatch posts an entry on the Astros [link disabled]? Which is double-boring because I watched the Astros-Mets game on TV last night.

My parents will be here in almost exactly a week. Somehow this is not motivating me to clean the apartment as much as it should.

I'm almost (okay more than halfway) finished with my latest knitting project -- a cross front sleevless top knit in this yarn (Incredible from Lion Brand Yarn). I've never knit with ribbon yarn before -- it's pretty much like you'd expect knitting with flat ribbon would be. I've already ordered yarn for my next project -- a dress that I previously attempted with the wrong kind of yarn (it was one of my first adult size projects, before I quite understood gauge and yardage). I'm hoping to have it done for BA and Zan's wedding in October. And after that, I have baby knitting to do. Well at least I'm being productive in one of my creative outlets.

I have not made any headway in fixing my home computer. In fact, I've pretty much decided to purchase a new one. So I'm way behind on posting Flickr pictures, but I'll try to get to it soon.
