Since they clinched the championship just after midnight, for today only, Texas is not stupid.  But after midnight, tonight, order will be restored to the universe.

Two quick thoughts on last night's game:

•    I didn't realize until they were posting the list of consecutive win streaks last night, that a USC win last night, coupled with another 12-0 season, would tie Oklahoma's D-I record.  I don't think USC will be perfect next year, but they'll be good, and I really didn't want to hear the media hype on that.  Maybe I should give Texas an extra day of not being stupid just for saving us all from "The March to 47."


• The two immediate post-game interviews were Matt Leinart and Pete Carroll?  Seriously?  When was the last time the media didn't interview someone from the winning team first, especially after a major game?  Can you think of one?  All I can figure is that ABC was so sure USC would win that they camped out on their sideline and couldn't get across to Texas in the celebratory crowd.  This pisses me off the more I think about it.  It's disrespectful to Texas, and really pretty mean to USC, to make them try and be good sports when 25,000 people are singing "The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You" at the top of their lungs and you know they really just want to walk away.  Am I overreacting here, or was that really bizarre?
