I wasn't going to post the word count on the blog this year because it was a pain to update on the NaNo site and then come update over here, but NaNo has these nifty new widgets that link back to the site and automatically update for you. It may take a bit to load since the site is a bit overrun right now, but the only way this could be more accurate is if they came up with a program to update the word count as you type them. Which would probably take way too much bandwith.
