First off, the holiday issue of Pindedlyboz is finally up. Our theme this year was "Joy," because last year's theme (Home) did not exactly elicit the stream of upbeat, or at least bittersweet, pieces we were hoping for. Yeah, guess what: this theme didn't either. The pieces we picked are good pieces of writing, but there are definitely a few where you have to squint really hard to see the sliver of "Joy." On the plus side, in our mad scramble to find even those slivers, we did get ourselves a nice little backlog of beautiful, totally depressing stories for 2009. So you've got that to look forward to.

Secondly, I had a fit of inspired lunacy last weekend and composed my own sports-themed Twelve Days of Christmas for Ladies..., complete with slide show. I'm ridiculously pleased with it; holiday silliness is my favorite kind of silliness. I can think of no better tribute to my boy Albert's MVP season than to give him the vaunted "golden rings" slot. (Because he wears number five! I didn't even have to force it in there!)

Tomorrow I will trek through the snow (woo!)to Zan and BA's for their holiday party (with crafts! Alcohol and crafts! That's a guarantee of holiday silliness right there.)
