2009-05-15 4:27 PM A Witty "Sleep" or "Dreams" Play on Words Eludes Me at This Point Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (0) Note: because of the cumulative effects of sleep deprivation, I have just chugged a 20 oz. of Pepsi in about ten minutes, which for me is the equivalent of a triple espresso for you coffee drinkers out there. Sugar+caffeine+lack of sleep= compulsive need for trivial blogging. Proceed at your own risk.
The two nights of blissful sleep I alluded to last entry were apparently the oasis in the middle of a particularly bad run of insomnia, which has worsened to the extent that for the past week I have found myself wide awake between 4:30 and 5:30 every morning with no ability to go back to sleep. In fact, some idiot (possibly my next door neighbors' housekeeper/nurse aide) has been mistakenly/inadvertently hitting my doorbell EVERY weekday morning for the past two weeks half an hour before my alarm goes off and I can't even get mad because I am already awake. I have a ticket to a dance performance tonight and I might go home, that is how tired I am right now. Granted it's just at the Joyce Soho so it wasn't expensive, but I have never, ever backed out on any performance I had tickets for, even in the middle of blinding sleet storms. During what sleep I'm able to get, I'm having very odd dreams. Last night's had something to do with being on a tour bus with a bunch of people from high school, and also some famous actress who I couldn't identify (in the dream) because she was wearing a wig. And I had left the house without my shoes which was a big problem for some reason. Thursday I was trying to fly to Europe on this very strange airline (the interior had a grand piano and shabby couches in it) and I couldn't get to "Vomm" (yeah, I don't know, either) directly even though that's what my itinerary said, I had to go through this other city first. Also, there were rowboats involved. I'm not a psychiatrist, but I think now that Sus and I have officially booked our plane tickets to Europe I may be having a teeny bit of travel anxiety. On the plus side, if the insomnia keeps up, I'll be well equipped to deal with the jet lag. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
