2009-07-04 2:48 PM Itinerary of Doooooom Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) That's what Sus's sister decided to title the document she typed up for Sus with all of our hotel contact info for the trip. It's maybe funnier if you actually have met Sus's sister, but now I feel inclined to walk around saying "itinerary of dooooom" and doing spooky finger motions around my face.
Anyway, I know vacation is getting close because Sus sent me 6 emails in 15 minutes today. Most of them were forwarding the confirmations for the hotels she booked, but she had some to do requests as well. I've been purposely saving Sunday to work on Europe stuff, which is turning out to be a good plan as the list keeps getting longer and longer. On an unrelated note, I wouldn't recommend Public Enemies, which I saw on Friday with Local Boy (yes, he's new). It's not awful, but it's suffering from a problem I see a lot with the nonfiction submissions we get at Pboz -- there's no ground work done to really establish why any of the characters make the decisions they do, because "that's how it really happened" is supposed to cover everything. I think the incompetence of the fledgling FBI is actually intentional, but one particular character is so bad at his job that the audience actually started laughing when he pulled his gun on Dillinger in the final scene. As we were leaving the theater, and kind of starting to pick the movie apart, another couple actually stopped to commiserate about how bad it was (they had stronger feelings about it than we did). So if you are a Johnny Depp completist, I'd recommend waiting until this one hits Netflix. Enjoy your holiday! Hope your city did not decide to move your big fireworks display to a different river so you can't see them from your neighborhood park any more!
