Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (0) Being possessed of an active imagination and worrywart tendencies, I've been living in fear of some catastrophe popping up that would ruin my vacation. By yesterday though, my only real anxiety was whether the thunderstorms forecasted for Thursday would keep Sus stuck in Houston. (This is still possible. I'm trying not to think about it.) Then Sus called.
"First of all," she said. "Thank you so, so much for going on this trip with me." "Um, you're welcome?" I said. She explained: apparently we were within inches of her boss's boss canceling her vacation and sending her off to Louisiana to deal with some catastrophe down there (she does safety protocol for her company) and it was only because I was going with her -- and the company would have thus had to pay for two canceled trips -- that they didn't make her go. We leave Thursday. I'm pretty sure until we actually get on the plane I'll be having nightmares that Sus's boss has changed his mind and decided to pay for both trips anyway. This would also be reason #203 Why I'm Glad I Don't Have Susan's Job. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
