So I'm at work listening to some random jazz and the song playing (no, I don't recall the name or artist) included some sung scat. Now scat is one of those things that can be good, or it can be bad--or at least unmemorable. I _think_ I've determined a way to differentiate between good and bad scat. Good scat summons up the idea of a vocalized saxaphone. Bad/unmemorable scat summons up the idea of a vocalized piano. I will grant that this may be an entirely subjective pair of definitions.
