Music: random NPR jazz

So I'm at work listening to some random jazz and the song playing (no, I don't recall the name or artist) included some sung scat. Now scat is one of those things that can be good, or it can be bad--or at least unmemorable. I _think_ I've determined a way to differentiate between good and bad scat.

Good scat summons up the idea of a vocalized saxaphone.

Bad/unmemorable scat summons up the idea of a vocalized piano.

I will grant that this may be an entirely subjective pair of definitions.

All scat as performed by Frank Sinatra is so bad that it defies any further explaination other than an embarassed shudder.
